Why We Exist (Our Vision and Mission)
The EDTP, Inc exists to serve as a catalyst to promote the establishment and growth of viable, sustainable grassroots businesses and non-profits.

We do this by providing training and technical assistance to entrepreneurs and community based non-profits. EDTP, Inc. collaborates with and promotes other organizations committed to bringing about positive change.

What We’ve Done (Accomplishments)

  • Project Share. For two years (1999-2000), EDTP, Inc. created a 6-week long training program to teach girls aged 12 to 16 how to share with others who are less fortunate, by creating gift baskets during the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons. Each girl personally selected items for the basket, thereby forming a bond with the recipient. These baskets were given to the families at selected Sheltered Homes for Battered Women and Children, as a sign that someone cares.

For Mother’s Day a select group of girls from a homeless shelter created gifts baskets to give to their Mothers. Some of them launched their own gift basket businesses. EDTP provided the initial materials needed.

  • 2001: EDTP participated in the UNITED NATIONS WORLD CONFERENCE AGAINST RACISM held in Durban, South Africa.
